Doctor Reacts to AWKWARD TikToks

Last month I has SO MUCH FUN watching and reacting to the funniest medical TikToks I could find. I decided to get after it again today and even throw in some non-medical ones too. Who knew some silly TikToks would actually lead to some interesting discussions about white coats, HIPAA violations, and my favorite essential oils ;)
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

  • 4:23 There you go. Please don't support making dogs walk on two legs. Usually, (not always, I'm sure!) the dog was forced into it with abuse. ☹ Very bad for their heart.

  • @ 0:59 the dog walking on two feet is actually cruel. Dogs aren't supposed to walk on two legs. so the owner would force the dog to walk on two legs by hitting them. Heres the link to a video for a better explanation:

  • THIS HAPPENED TO ME THIS WEEK!!!!!! An ER doctor could've killed meI just spent almost a week in the hospital for emergency brain surgery and I'm considering filing a complaint against the ER doc! I have pseudotumor cerebri and felt that my VP shunt was broken. I made sure the ER I went to was in the building my neurosurgeon is at so he could assist. The ER doctor said, "Your CTs were fine, it's not your shunt, you just have a bad migraine." I had 8 brain surgeries dealing with this previously (all scheduled, not suddenly as an emergency like this one) so I KNOW my body! He tried to discharge me on Thursday after giving me a Tylenol for this supposed migraine. I said, "I'm not trying to be difficult but would you mind paging my neurosurgeon's office to have someone take a look, please? CTs can only show certain problems and I've NEVER been wrong before when I felt my shunt was broken." He reluctantly agreed and my surgeon's PA came down to see me. She admitted me for observation & pain control for Thursday night and set up a spinal tap for Friday morning. I went to my spinal tap, the ICP (intracranial pressure) readings were in the 50s, and I had just been taken back to my room to lay still for a few hours when my surgeon & his whole team raced in! It was exactly like on TV, people running around, moving me, handing me forms to sign while we made our way from my inpatient room to the OR, and I was in surgery within half an hour of my surgeon receiving the report from my spinal tap. The ER doctor wanted to send me home with an ICP of over 52. He said it wasn't the shunt. If I'd not advocated for myself, I could've been blind or in a coma or even dead by today!

  • Personally, I think people just need to build an immunity instead of there being a repeated lockdown.

    Ez BEz B4 kun oldin
    • @Big Brain I just don't think there is a point to the repeated lock downs. The first one did little to no help so why would the second one? - that's my point :)

      Ez BEz B3 kun oldin
    • I'm not sure if this is the best way to explain this, but here we go. I meant the younger generation. I understand the elders may have no way of building an immunity, but when people know what covid is like they know to stay away from the elderly. Or they can keep getting tests. I know there may be alot wrong with that theory but it's just a little personal guess :)

      Ez BEz B3 kun oldin
    • I can't tell if you're joking, to create antibodies you need to get covid, meaning older people can't do that as covid is generally a lot more fatal to them.

      Big BrainBig Brain3 kun oldin
  • I used to get these needles when I was little, and I remember the doctor who was giving it to me said ‘don’t worry! We are just putting fish in your arm!’ I think he was trying to make me calm down. But being little, I thought I will have fish in my arm. So that made it scarier. I remember him saying ‘one fish, two fish, three fish.’ (While he was giving me the needle) And I scream because he was saying he was putting fish in my arm. What a great doctor, am I right?

  • Handshakes are NOT a human thing, they are a CULTURAL thing. Yes, they are a form of non verbal communication in the US and I'm sure other cultures as well. Not everyone in the US shares this cultural norm, because the US has a diversity of cultures. That being said, culture can change, because people adapt, and change to the circumstances. COVID may be such a circumstance, it may not. Personally, I enjoyed the added personal space with strangers and anyone who I don't live with or see so much I practically live with. When I went to an event which was a lot more relaxed on COVID "rules' I felt uncomfortable by everyone who was standing the typical distance from me (less than 6 feet). In some cultures the distance you put between yourself and others (the personal bubble) is already around 6 feet or even more, and other cultures it is much closer than the majority of Americans would be comfortable with. There is nothing wrong with wanting handshakes back, it also doesn't mean you aren't human if you don't have or like this particular social norm. -A college student who recently took a whole semester on Intercultural Communication. Also those are Penne Pasta.
